--- Resultierend aus der erheblichen Zunahme von Anfragen zur Schimmelpilzbelastung in Wohnungen an das Gesundheitsamt (1995: n = 83; 1999: n = 796) wurde durch die Leipziger Umweltmedizinischen Sprechstunden, das Gesundheitsamt Leipzig und das Umweltforschungszentrum Leipzig-Halle, ein aufeinander abgestimmtes, teilstandardisiertes Programm zur Untersuchung der gesundheitlichen Effekte von Schimmelpilzbelastungen (LEIPI) etabliert. Es beinhaltet eine Befragung zur Wohnungsbelastung mit Schadstoffen und zu auftretenden Gesundheitsbeschwerden. Es werden Innenraummessungen von Schimmelpilzsporen in der Luft, flüchtigen organischen Verbindungen (VOC) einschließlich mikrobieller flüchtiger organischer Verbindungen (MVOC) und Hausstaubmilben durchgeführt. Patienten mit Gesundheitsbeschwerden können sich in der Umweltmedizinischen Sprechstunde hinsichtlich immunologischer Auffälligkeiten und Allergien untersuchen lassen. Eine vollständige Wiederholungsuntersuchung der Patienten nach einem Jahr ist vorgesehen, um den Einfluss stattgefundener Sanierungsmaßnahmen im Sinne einer Intervention zu klären.

As a consequence of the increased number of demands about mould burdening of dwellings to the Health Centre of Leipzig (1995: n = 83; 1999: n = 796) a partially standardised program on health effects possibly caused by mould (LEIPI) was established. It runs as co-operation of the Health Centre of Leipzig, the Centre for Environmental Research Leipzig-Halle, and the Consulting Hours of Environmental Medicine at the University of Leipzig. This program includes questionnaires about the indoor environment of the dwelling and health problems of the occupants. Loads of the dwellings of patients with moulds, volatile organic compounds (VOC), including microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOC), and house dust mites are measured. Patients with health problems can consult the Consulting Hours of Environmental Medicine. The aim of the clinical investigation is the study of effects of mould burdening on the immune system with possible atopic sensitisation. After one year the repetition of the complete investigation including indoor measurement and clinical investigation is planned to evaluate the effect of elimination of mould in the dwellings.
