Instrumente und Perspektiven

Instrumente und Perspektiven einer psychologischen Diagnostik im Bereich der Umweltpsychologie und der Umweltmedizin werden aufgezeigt.
Es wird eine Klassifikation der psychischen Funktionen in Wahrnehmung, körperlicher Aktivierung, Funktion und Leistung, psychisches Befinden und Sozialverhalten vorgenommen. Verfahren aus der psychologischen Diagnostik werden den psychischen Funktionen zugeordnet, wobei die Auswahl der Verfahren sich auf bereits etablierte, anwendungsfreundliche und für die Umweltpsychologie nutzbare Verfahren bezieht. Nach der exemplarischen Darstellung bereits durchgeführter umweltpsychologischer Forschung und dabei verwendeter diagnostischer Mittel, werden Anregungen für den Entscheidungsprozeß einer umweltpsychologischen Diagnostik gemacht, wobei besonders auf eine selektiv multimethodale Auswahl der diagnostischen Instrumente hingewiesen wird.
Der Handlungsbedarf zukünftiger umweltpsychologischer Diagnostik richtet sich vor allem auf die umweltpsychologische Versuchsplanung mit der Betonung einer kontextvaliden Vorgehensweise, der Weiterentwicklung von verfügbarer Diagnostik, insbesonderer solcher Verfahren, die einen Bezug zu dem Streßmodell aufweisen und der Entwicklung neuer Verfahren wie z.B. die Erstellung von Sensorkilisten für spezifische Stoffgruppen und Körperbereiche. Für zukünftige Forschungsarbeiten und die Anwendung bietet sich eine Entwicklung und Systematisierung einer computergestützten Diagnostik für die Umweltpsychologie/Umweltmedizin an.

Instruments and views of psychological diagnostic research in the realm of environmental psychology and environmental medicine are demonstrated. This paper describes the instruments and perspectives used for psychological diagnosis in environmental psychology and environmental medicine. A classification of mental functions is carried ou which includes perception, physical activation, functional status and performance, psychological well-being and social behavoir.
Methods and instruments derived from psychological diagnostics are assigned to particular mental functions; whereby the selction criteria involve instruments which have to be well-established, user-friendly and applicable to the specific research questions posed in environmental psychology.
Several examples are provided for research already cunducted in the context of environmental psychology (includin an introduction of the instruments used). Ideas are subsequently provided for the decision-making process in environmental-psychological diagnostics involve a focus on the following: The design of environmental-psychological studies with an accentuation of context validation, the further elaboration of diagnostic instruments, especially of instruments that are related to the stress-model, and the development of new instruments, e.g. the production of sensor lists for specific body areas and tissue groups.
Also suggested is the systematic development and establishment of computer-based diagnostics in the realm of environmental psychology and medicine.
